Panther Pride

2020 Season

A New GM, Red Zone, Could mean big changes in Carolina this offseason.
Already, rumors are flying that QB Jameis Winston could be on the trade block.
Why would Red Zone deal away a future stud like Winston?
This Team is geared towards the run and playing defense.
Winston will be a star passer, but with the Oline and Rbs already in place, along with the defense...
He would require the team to make wholesale changes at almost every other position.
Nothing is etched in stone but the team is exploring options
Keeping Winston may be their best bet, so if teams arent interested enough to snatch him up while they can...
In the end, Carolina may reap the benefits
stay tuned

After waiting to see what other offers might come in, Carolina accepted a trade offer from Green Bay this evening.
QB Jameis Winston and WR Dez Bryant go to the Packers
WR Mercury Tan, 1,13 and GBY 2021 1st round pick come to the Panthers

It appears that there are 3 QBs on the radar
One of them should be acquired on the next day or two

QB Harvey Gunn was acquired from Pittsburgh today for 4.12, CAR 2021 3rd and Mentor QB Sam Bradford.
Gunn should thrive in Carolina's offense, while Bradford helps develop young QB Prospect Bryce Petty for the Steelers.
It appears the Panthers are now focused on the late rounds of the draft, since they dont have a ton of cap to spend on FAs and the roster seems fairly well set now for the 2020 season.

With 1.13 Red Zone selected C Darnell Belichik
This filled the teams biggest Need with one of the top graded players at the draft combines.
He should start day 1 and be a fixture for years to come

Man you got yourself an absolute steal at 1.13
Did not even think he would make it past KCY and their top 12 picks...

Getting Harvey Gunn was a nice move. Pretty damn goodcareer for someone who made more than 600+ pass attempts in his first 3 seasons with no weapons and still have a positive TD/INT ratio. Imagine what he will do with a great RB and the stud WR Tan. Your best bet for a receiving TE seems to be Ebron...wooo will be very interesting to follow your team this season.
GM for the Detroit Lions.

Thanks Sef0r
Ive got the cap under control now, i think...after the FA 11-12 sim on wednesday
We'll have to fill some gaps with rookies and survive a couple seasons until some of these contracts expire and then things will be fine
In the meantime...I kind of think we can compete this season too
Time will tell

A loss in the Conference Championship Game ended the Panthers season, but the team established themselves as a contender in 2020 and should be able to make another run in 2021. The 4th overall pick, from the Jameis Winston trade will add another good young prospect and most of last years squad returns.

2021 Season

As the 2021 Offseason began, DTs Star Lotulelei and Peria Jerry were cap casualties and many contracts needed to be reworked to get the cap under control, but most of the Panthers roster from 2020 returns and as the Draft approaches and Free Agency begins The Panthers hope to take the next step and get to a Bowl.
